Certification Program Choices:

We are currently working on a Master Grower Certification designed to go well beyond the NOP in sustainability and use of natural and organic elements.  With purity of intention and love of their work, these farmers are leaders on the cutting edge.

1. Certified Kind – The Gold Standard in cannabis certification.

Why Certified Kind?

As crop supply chains lengthen, it becomes difficult for folks to “know their grower”. Without a tight connection to the grower, how is a consumer supposed to know which products are not grown using chemical fertilizers, or toxic pesticides. Certified Kind is the answer.

Certified Kind is a private sustainable agricultural and food processing standard intended for organic cannabis growers and processors in states that have legalized recreational or medical cannabis production. Certified Kind is also an ideal choice for fruit and vegetable growers that are tired of government sponsored organic certification.

Get Certified Kind and prove your unwavering commitment to producing the highest quality product using the most earth-friendly, energy efficient agricultural practices possible. Inform the world that your products are pure. Since the federal government will not allow organic certification of cannabis or cannabis products, producers need their own certification standard.

2. Naturally Grown Cannabis

Designed to help small growers safely and inexpensvely enter the emerging legal market. This simpler program is known as a  PGS internationally recognized certification system. Naturally Grown Cannabis farmers share a commitment to work within the natural biological cycles that are necessary for a truly sustainable farming system – a system that works in harmony with micro-organisms, soil flora and fauna, pollinators, plants and animals.

NGC offers certification of indoor grow rooms, outdoor farms/gardens, and greenhouses.

Building on Organic Standards

A set of internationally accepted standards and practices for organic agriculture exists, but there’s always discussion around the edges of what should officially be considered organic. The NGC certification uses the Certified Kind standards based on the NOP for our growing programs. As a private non-profit organization, NGC has the freedom to set it’s own standards, and they have chosen to do so in particular instances, but the liberties do not corrupt the standard. In fact it is stricter than the USDA in some areas.

Naturally Grown Cannabis is not affiliated with the USDA National Organic Program. All certification programs do not confer permission to use the word “organic”.
